I have been working with Mike since 2006, starting with my initial participation in the first ever cohort of the award-wining “G4S Leadership Programme”, and our way of co-operating has evolved continuously through ever-higher stages of maturity.I took the decision to ask Mike to coach me during a career transition in 2008, based on the initial experience on the “G4S Leadership Programme”. The mixture of using tools, models and theories combined with a highly empathic and pragmatic way of enlightening the path towards the best choices, was crucial in the career options I have chosen.
The method that Mike has developed around coaching walks creates the right environment to deepen reflection and emotional insight. It continues to be an incredibly powerful tool to ‘mentally buckle together’ all the learning experiences for the benefit of long term practice.
Going further, Mike has progressively taken on the role as my ‘sherpa’, acting permanently as a sparring partner, guide, mirror and confidant, and contributing to strengthen the effectiveness of my tactical and strategic work as a leader.
I would conclude by saying that, as a human being, Mike has been an inspiration and a model for ‘living your values’.
